Real bookings. Real reviews. Both directions.

Reviews decide who gets your job, so they have to be worth trusting. This page is exactly how they work. No fine print.

Only real customers can review

Every review on Mendy comes from a booking made and completed through Mendy. There is no other way to leave one. No imported reviews, no anonymous reviews, no reviews from competitors, none bought, traded or written by us. Where you see a Google rating on a tradie, it is labelled as Google data, never mixed into Mendy reviews.

Negative reviews are never removed for being negative

A review is never edited, hidden, reordered or removed because it is critical. Star ratings count from the moment they are posted, one star or five. A tradie cannot pay, ask or threaten their way out of a bad review, and neither can we.

What screening actually checks

Written reviews are screened before the words go public. Screening looks for personal abuse, private details such as phone numbers or addresses, and text that is about a different business or no job at all. It does not look for negativity, and it cannot reject a rating. While the words are being checked, the stars already count.

Tradies get a right of reply

The tradie can post one public reply under any of their reviews, and edit it later. Replies pass the same screening as review text. A reply sits beneath the review and never changes the review or its rating.

When a tradie disputes a review

A tradie can flag a review on specific grounds only: not a genuine customer, abusive or off topic, about someone else's work, or made right since. Mendy checks the flag against the booking record and decides within 7 days. If the flag does not hold, the review stands. If the tradie has genuinely gone back and fixed the problem, the customer is invited to update their review, once, and whether they do is entirely their call.

Photos

Reviewers can add up to three photos of the finished job. Photos show only alongside an approved review.

The law

The Australian Consumer Law bans fake reviews and cherry-picking, and the ACCC enforces it. We follow it to the letter: ratings are computed from every review, negatives included, and nothing on this page bends for a paying tradie.
